Clementina Series: Pam Arias

Panamá and Beyond, with Pam Arias

Pam is the founder of The Girl From Panama, a leader in the Latin-American fashion industry, and also a muse to Clemente. Since her beginnings in content creation, our co-founders have always resonated with Pam’s sophisticated style, down-to-earth energy and corporate-creative balance. After connecting at the Latin American Fashion Summit, we invited Pam to share a bit about her journey as a regional trailblazer with a Panamanian heart and a global mindset.

Your job revolves around people, travel, discovery, and experiences. What is your favorite part of it all?

It’s hard to choose one but I would say the creative, artistic direction behind my content creation process is one of the things I love the most about my job.

After growing up in Panama and working internationally, what do you feel emerging Panamanian brands or content creators should focus on to be better positioned in the industry?

Think big! Reach for the stars!  I can’t say that enough. It sounds cliché but it’s the truth. Don’t limit yourself. Reach out to retailers, celebrities, entrepreneurs, content creators, anyone that can help push your business forward. Work hard until you reach your goals and put God first in everything you do!

You constantly inspire your followers to discover Panamanian design by beautifully styling Clemente pieces. We absolutely loved when you featured our collections in Vogue and The LAFS Closet. Can you share a bit of what you love about our brand, and what your experience with Clemente has been like?

I love the story behind Clemente! I love that everything you guys do has a beautiful purpose behind it. It doesn’t feel forced, it feels effortless and I can see the real passion and love behind every piece you guys create. My experience has been nothing short of amazing.

You count with global experience working for the beauty and fashion industry in London, San Francisco and Panama. How do you feel this corporate formation helped build and differentiate your current career?

My corporate formation helped set the foundation of my business today. Having a background in fashion, beauty and marketing was extremely beneficial to my business. Early on in my career as a content creator I decided that I was going to have a global focus and I think that’s something I definitely learned from living in different countries and cities throughout my life.

What is a piece of advice you would like to give to young professionals who are looking for a corporate-yet-creative job?

Do your research. Find people you admire and try to reach out and find out how they got there. What was their career path? Also, write down some of your goals and make a plan to hold you accountable. Finally, find a mentor, and surround yourself with people you admire to learn as much as you can from them.
